Sugar in food and drinks

This website's goal is to bring attention to the amount of sugar contained in various food items to help you make informed decisions about your eating and drinking habits.

As you read labels on food products you see how many grams of sugar is contained in a certain amount of that product. For this information to be meaninful you need to know knowing how much one gram of sugar is. By knowing how much one gram of sugar is you will have a good idea what you're about to consume next time you see something like "12g per bottle" on a label.

We think the easiest way to understand amounts of sugar is by visualizing the amounts, so we're including an image next to amounts shown. For example it's not easy to picture the amount of sugar just by reading the words "15g of sugar" but when you see this picture you'll have a much easier time to put the words in to context.
